# Write to the deduplication item list The deduplication API allows clients to report item IDs for real\-time filtering, which resolves incorrect server\-side filtering caused by unexposed cached items and undetectable cross\-channel behavior. ## Core Capabilities The data submitted through this API is used for the "Impression Deduplication" recommendation feature. Impression deduplication prevents the loss of high\-quality items. This feature only deduplicates items that users have actually seen, preventing content gaps caused by the long\-term filtering of unexposed items. :::tip \*Description Recommendation scenes created after January 6, 2026, will automatically use the exposure deduplication feature. Previously created scenes will retain the existing delivery deduplication feature. * New scenes can use the deduplication API as usual. * To use the deduplication API for legacy scenarios, you must first upgrade to the Impression Deduplication feature.
