Arduino IDE 2.x版本部署与使用相关问题咨询

I'm stuck between a rock and hard place.

I have the Arduino IDE v 1.8.19 installed, via SNAP I believe (not sure and I'll explain later). This version is OLD and it was suggested I upgrade to Version 2.x of the IDE, which can co-exist with the older one.

I downloaded the 2.x version (zip format), extracted it, CD into the directory, checked the permissions (executable) and ran it. I kind of like it but a bunch of questions have since arisen:

• Snap版本无更新选项的疑问：Looking on SNAP it says I have the IDE installed, but there isn't any "update" option. Since I now want to use the newer 2.x version, why won't/can't SNAP show me an update?

• 2.x版本安装目录的困惑：Right now the extracted ZIP's directory is in Downloads/arduino-ide_nightly-20231006_Linux_64bit/ with all associated files/directories included, which I'm guessing is not a good place to have it. This is an official release, so I'm lost on where the correct location to place it is. Do I keep them in this directory and move the whole thing elsewhere? If so, where?

• 外部编辑器设置缺失的问题：It was mentioned to me to edit the settings file to allow using an external editor, but there's no option available in the new IDE. When I open the OLDER IDE and go to the same menu option, I get that setting plus other different/more options. Is this a problem with the new program or the OS?

• 库目录权限与双重目录的疑问：A while back I was trying to find libraries and found a library directory in some obscure location where I had NO PERMISSION to do anything—even with sudo and entering the password. Yet I also have a library directory in Documents/arduino/library which I know is used because that's where most of my regularly used libraries are stored. The other directory was put there when I installed the IDE via SNAP. Why did this happen?

Right now I'm stuck because I want to move on from 1.8.19 and use the new 2.x version. I've got it working but the current file location isn't practical. I need clarity on the correct setup steps here.
