使用Tweepy与Python收集Twitter推文问题及论坛代码排版求助
Solutions to Your Tweepy & Code Formatting Questions
1. Getting Full, Un-Truncated Tweet Text with Tweepy
The ellipses you’re seeing happen because Tweepy returns truncated text by default. To fix this, enable extended mode in your API calls to pull the complete tweet content:
- For regular (non-retweet) posts, use the
full_textfield instead oftext, and addtweet_mode='extended'to your request:
tweets = api.user_timeline(screen_name='target_user', count=100, tweet_mode='extended') for tweet in tweets: complete_text = tweet.full_text print(complete_text)
- For retweets, the full original text lives under
retweeted_status.full_text—you’ll need to check if the tweet is a retweet first to avoid errors:
for tweet in tweets: if hasattr(tweet, 'retweeted_status'): complete_text = tweet.retweeted_status.full_text else: complete_text = tweet.full_text print(complete_text)
2. Cleaning Tweet Text (Removing URLs & Unwanted Content)
To strip URLs and other clutter from your tweet text, use Python’s re module to match and replace unwanted patterns. Here’s a reusable function:
import re def clean_tweet_content(text): # Remove all URLs (http, https, www links) cleaned = re.sub(r'http\S+|www\S+|https\S+', '', text, flags=re.MULTILINE) # Optional: Remove @mentions if you don't need them cleaned = re.sub(r'@\w+', '', cleaned) # Optional: Remove #hashtags if irrelevant to your analysis cleaned = re.sub(r'#\w+', '', cleaned) # Trim extra whitespace left behind cleaned = cleaned.strip() return cleaned # Use the function with your complete tweet text cleaned_tweet = clean_tweet_content(complete_text) print(cleaned_tweet)
3. Posting Indented Code on Stack Overflow
There are two straightforward ways to preserve indentation in code blocks:
- Triple backticks: Wrap your entire code block in three backticks (
\```) at the start and end. Add the language name right after the first set of backticks for syntax highlighting:
def calculate_average(numbers): total = sum(numbers) return total / len(numbers)
- 4-space indentation: Indent every line of your code by at least 4 spaces. Stack Overflow will automatically format it as a code block:
def calculate_average(numbers):
total = sum(numbers)
return total / len(numbers)
Both methods keep your indentation intact—triple backticks are the more popular choice for readability and syntax highlighting.
