双启动MacBook下Ubuntu无法检测特定WiFi的问题及解决方案分享
Hey everyone, I wanted to share a solution that took me a whole week to figure out, in case anyone else is stuck with the same dual-boot WiFi frustration.
Here's my scenario: I have a dual-boot MacBook Pro running Ubuntu and macOS. Ubuntu could detect all available WiFi networks except one specific public WiFi I needed to connect to — weirdly enough, that same WiFi showed up just fine on macOS.
I tried every common fix I could find online first:
- I deleted the preferred WiFi entry from macOS via
System Preferences > Network > Advanced > [select the WiFi] > click the minus sign > Apply - But this didn't resolve the issue at all, and even worse, the deleted WiFi kept reappearing every time I restarted my Mac!
I dug deeper to find how to permanently remove saved WiFi networks, and saw suggestions to uncheck "iCloud Keychain" in System Preferences > iCloud — but mine was already unchecked. I couldn't figure out where the saved network was coming from, so I just logged out of my iCloud account on macOS entirely.
Guess what? When I switched back to Ubuntu, that elusive WiFi finally showed up!
Quick Recap of the Solution
Log out of your iCloud account on macOS — it's a simple fix, but it took me forever to land on it.
If anyone knows a way to permanently delete saved WiFi networks on macOS without logging out of iCloud, please share it here! That would be a huge help for anyone who doesn't want to sign out of their account.
