The RDP Shadowing Issue #

When I connect to a remote PC using RDP Shadow (shadow session), the game’s anti-cheat protection doesn’t register any of my mouse clicks or keyboard shortcuts at all. After checking Task Manager, I realized the root cause: RDP Shadow doesn’t load the remote mouse and keyboard drivers. Without those drivers, my input signals never make it to the game.

The Regular RDP Tradeoff #

On the flip side, using the standard RDP shortcut from the Start Menu works fine for game input—those remote mouse/keyboard drivers load properly, and the game recognizes all my clicks and keystrokes. But here’s the catch: every time I connect via regular RDP, the main console session’s screen gets locked. I need a way to connect remotely without locking the main session, so I can control the game both from the remote PC and the local machine at the same time.

What I’ve Tried So Far #

I messed around with Windows Server settings to try and prevent the session lock, but no luck there.

My core goal is: a remote access method that doesn’t lock the main console session, while still letting the game recognize mouse and keyboard input like regular RDP does.

Does anyone know of tools or tweaks that can make this happen?
