Ubuntu 24.04(UEFI模式)USB安装时initramfs解压失败问题求助
Hey everyone, I've hit a super frustrating roadblock trying to install Ubuntu 24.04 from a USB drive in UEFI mode, and I’m really hoping someone can help me out here!
Here’s the exact issue: right when the installer tries to read the USB drive, I get this error message that stops everything cold:
Initramfs unpacking failed: invalid magic at start of compressed archive
After that, my only option is to restart the system. The weird part is, I never had this problem with older Ubuntu versions—but now it’s popping up not just with Ubuntu 24.04, but also with related distros like Kubuntu and the latest Mint release too.
I’ve already tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps to fix this, including:
- Downloading the ISO file multiple times to rule out a corrupted download
- Using different tools to create the bootable USB: Etcher, Ubuntu’s built-in USB creator, and Mint’s native USB creator tool
None of these fixes have worked so far, and I’m totally stuck. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions to get past this error so I can finish the installation?
