I’ve dug through multiple discussion threads about this exact error and tried a bunch of potential fixes, but I’m still stuck on getting this working.

Here’s what I’m dealing with: I’m integrating with a client’s REST endpoint that requires client certificate authentication. I already have the required certificate, and I installed it both for my current user account and the local machine by double-clicking the .pfx file and walking through the installation wizard. On top of that, I used the winhttpcertcfg tool to add certificate permissions for the application pool identity account (Network Service), so it should have access to use the certificate for authentication.

Despite all these steps, I still can’t successfully authenticate and connect to the endpoint.
