关于Skype for Business位置查询接口及SNMP工具接口定义的技术问询

Great questions about Skype for Business (SfB) integration—let’s break these down one by one:

The core web service used for location lookup in SfB is the Location Information Service (LIS) Web Service:

• It’s a SOAP-based service built specifically to handle E911 location queries, device-to-location mapping, and location data retrieval for SfB clients and servers.
• This service communicates directly with the SfB Location Information Server (LIS) backend, which stores critical location data like subnet-to-location mappings, wireless access point (WAP) location associations, and user-defined location records.
• Clients and servers call this service to resolve locations for emergency calling, location-based routing, and other location-aware features in SfB.

Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn’t publish formal machine-readable interface definitions (like WSDL, XSD, or Swagger) for the SNMP integration with SfB. That said, you can still gather the necessary details to work with the interface through these practical approaches:

• SNMP MIB Files: SfB provides official Management Information Base (MIB) files that define the Object Identifiers (OIDs), data types, and expected responses for SNMP queries. These MIBs outline exactly which metrics, statuses, and configuration details SfB servers expose via SNMP.
• Traffic Capture & Analysis: You can use tools like Wireshark to capture SNMP traffic between your configured discovery tool and SfB servers. Analyzing this traffic lets you reverse-engineer request/response patterns and supported SNMP commands.
• TechNet Documentation Context: While the referenced guide focuses on setup steps, it includes details about the types of data SfB can send via SNMP (such as server health metrics, active connection counts, and service statuses) to help align your tool’s expectations.
