咨询：.ics与.vcs日历文件扩展名含义及.ics释义正确性确认

.ics Confirmation #

You’re exactly right—.ics is the file extension for the Internet Calendar and Scheduling Core Object Specification, commonly shortened to iCalendar. This is the standardized format (defined in RFC 5545) that powers cross-platform calendar sharing, event invites, and scheduling syncing across almost all modern calendar apps (like Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar).

.vcs Clarification #

Your hunch about the Versit Consortium is correct in terms of origin, but the full name tied to the .vcs extension is vCalendar Specification. Developed by the Versit Consortium in the 1990s, vCalendar was the precursor to iCalendar. While it’s less widely used today, some legacy systems still support .vcs files for basic calendar data exchange.
