PHP7.0.33+Laravel5.5下无法安装Spatie包的解决建议求助

Hey there, I’ve dealt with similar dependency headaches before, so let’s get this sorted for you without upgrading PHP. Here are actionable, tested steps:

1. Install the Compatible v6.x Branch of Medialibrary #

The core issue is that medialibrary ^7.0.0 requires PHP 7.1+, which is why your targeted install failed. Instead, you need the v6.x branch—it’s explicitly built to support PHP 7.0+ and Laravel 5.4–5.8, a perfect match for your setup.

Run this command in your project root:

composer require "spatie/laravel-medialibrary:^6.0"

This should fix the base compatibility conflict right away.

2. Diagnose & Fix Remaining Dependency Conflicts (If Needed) #

If you still see the "requirements could not be resolved" error, run this command to pinpoint exactly which packages are clashing:

composer why-not spatie/laravel-medialibrary:^6.0

It’ll output a list of packages with conflicting version rules. You can then adjust those packages’ versions in your composer.json to align with what medialibrary v6 needs. For example, if a package demands a newer illuminate/support, set it to ^5.5 (the version bundled with Laravel 5.5).

3. Tweak Composer Stability (Last Resort) #

In rare cases, you might need to loosen Composer’s stability settings to pull in compatible package builds. Add these lines to your composer.json (just above the require section) and retry the install:

"minimum-stability": "dev",
"prefer-stable": true

Note: This is a last resort—development versions can carry bugs. Only use this if the first two steps don’t resolve the issue.

Once installed, follow the v6 documentation for setup (migrations, config tweaks) since there are minor differences from newer medialibrary versions.
