你当前没有对输入完成后的price变量做格式化打印，input()的提示语仅用于引导输入，不会自动将输入的数值转换为两位小数格式输出，因此无法得到你想要的效果。

只需在获取price变量后新增一行格式化打印语句即可，以下是可直接运行的修改后代码，完全沿用你原本的format()写法逻辑：

price = float(input("Price: $ "))

print("Price: $", format(price, '.2f'))
tax = .05
salestax = price * tax
total = salestax + price
