Facebook Page Plugin iframe含点域名无法正常加载问题求助

Got it, let's troubleshoot why the Page Plugin isn't working when you use a Facebook page URL with a dot (like https://www.facebook.com/david.batra). I’ve dealt with this exact quirk before, so here are the most reliable fixes:

• Use the Page ID instead of the username
  Facebook’s Page Plugin can struggle with usernames that contain special characters (dots, hyphens, etc.). The most foolproof workaround is to replace the username URL with your page’s numeric ID. Here’s how to find it:

  1. Go to your target Facebook page and navigate to the About section.
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom—you’ll find the Page ID listed there (it’s a string of numbers).
  3. Update your plugin code’s data-href attribute to use the ID-based URL, like https://www.facebook.com/1234567890 (replace with your actual ID).

  Example of fixed code:

  <div class="fb-page"
       data-href="https://www.facebook.com/1234567890"
       data-width="340"
       data-hide-cover="false"
       data-show-facepile="true">
  </div>

• Verify the page is publicly accessible
  If the target Facebook page is set to private or restricted, the Page Plugin won’t load—even with a correct URL or ID. Double-check that the page’s privacy settings allow public viewing.

• Clear browser cache or test in incognito mode
  Sometimes outdated cached data can cause the plugin to fail unexpectedly. A quick test in an incognito window or clearing your browser’s cache can rule out this issue.

The core problem here is that the plugin’s URL parser doesn’t always handle non-standard usernames consistently. Switching to the numeric Page ID bypasses this entirely, as Facebook’s API prioritizes IDs over usernames for reliable lookups.
