Oracle存储过程编译时WHERE条件中'N'自动转为'u'的原因排查求助
Weird Automatic String Replacement in Stored Procedure: My Fix & Root Cause
I hit a really puzzling issue when building a stored procedure recently:
- I included the condition
WHERE zzrectyp = 'N'to target specific records. - No matter how many times I compiled the procedure, that line would magically change to
WHERE zzrectyp = 'u'without me touching it. - I scoured official docs for any setting that could trigger this kind of auto-replacement, but found nothing relevant.
To get around this annoying behavior, I modified the line to use the character function instead: WHERE zzrectyp = CHR(78) (since CHR(78) corresponds to the uppercase 'N' character). This workaround prevented the unwanted change from occurring.
Update on the Root Cause
Thanks to insight from Alex Poole, I learned this wasn't a database-level issue at all—it was a bug in the SQL Developer IDE I was using. The good news is that this specific bug has been addressed in newer versions of SQL Developer, so updating the tool would also resolve the problem without needing the CHR() workaround.
