关于MS Teams适配21:9超宽显示器及支持MS PowerToys Fancy Zones区域共享的功能建议
I recently switched to a 21:9 ultrawide monitor to replace my multiple smaller displays, but I've hit a frustrating roadblock with MS Teams when presenting. When I need to share my entire desktop (since I have to switch between multiple apps and can't share just a single window), the feed gets over-scaled for other participants, making content nearly unreadable.
Current Workarounds (Temporary Fixes Only)
- Third-party tools exist that partially mitigate this issue, but they're just band-aid solutions
- Many users leverage MS PowerToys to make better use of ultrawide displays, specifically using the Fancy Zones feature to define a standard 16:9 area on their screen. Unfortunately, MS Teams doesn't recognize these zones at all.
My Suggestion
I propose adding a feature to MS Teams that detects if a user has enabled MS PowerToys Fancy Zones, and allows them to select one of these predefined zones for screensharing. This would solve the scaling problem entirely and make Teams far more usable for ultrawide monitor users. Given that there's already a large volume of user feedback about this issue, this solution would benefit a huge number of people.
