• Use Scope in the Sum Function (If Query Can't Be Changed)
  If you can't adjust the dataset, specify the scope of the Sum function to target your account-level row group. In tools like SSRS or Power BI Report Builder, reference the name of your account group:

  =Sum(Fields!DebitAmount.Value, "AccountRowGroup")
  

  Replace "AccountRowGroup" with the actual name of the row group that groups data by account. This tells the report to sum aggregated values per account instead of all detail rows.

• Confirm Report Grouping Setup
  Ensure your report has a row group for AccountGroup and a nested group for AccountID. Hide the detail transaction rows so only account-level totals are visible. This structure ensures the scope-based sum works as intended.
