Android Studio Arctic Fox中如何忽略未使用变量类编译问题以正常编译测试代码
Problem Description
I'm working with Android Studio Arctic Fox 2020.3.1 Patch 2, and my initial code (Code A) compiles perfectly fine. For testing purposes, I added a single line var name3 = "" to get Code B, but the compiler won't compile it, throwing the error:
Variable 'name3' is never used
Since this is just a test scenario, I don't think unused variables should block compilation. How can I configure Android Studio to ignore this type of minor issue and let Code B run?
Code A (Compiles Without Issues)
@Composable fun HelloScreen() { var name1 by rememberSaveable { mutableStateOf("") } HelloContent(name2 = name1, onNameChange = { name1 = it }) } @Composable fun HelloContent(name2: String, onNameChange: (String) -> Unit) { Column(modifier = Modifier.padding(16.dp)) { Text( text = "Hello, $name2", modifier = Modifier.padding(bottom = 8.dp), style = MaterialTheme.typography.h5 ) OutlinedTextField( value = name2, onValueChange = onNameChange, label = { Text("MyLabel") } ) } }
Code B (Fails to Compile)
@Composable fun HelloScreen() { var name1 by rememberSaveable { mutableStateOf("") } var name3 = "" HelloContent(name2 = name1, onNameChange = { name1 = it }) } @Composable fun HelloContent(name2: String, onNameChange: (String) -> Unit) { ...// Identical to Code A's HelloContent }
Attempted Fix That Didn't Work
I tried adding @SuppressWarnings and @Suppress("unused") annotations as suggested, but the compilation error persisted (error details in Image A).
Working Solution
After some digging, I found the correct fix: modify your module-level build.gradle file (or build.gradle.kts if using Kotlin DSL) to disable treating all warnings as errors:
For Groovy:
android { // ... other configurations kotlinOptions { allWarningsAsErrors = false } }
For Kotlin DSL:
android { // ... other configurations kotlinOptions { allWarningsAsErrors = false } }
This setting tells the compiler to treat unused variables (and other minor warnings) as non-blocking issues, allowing Code B to compile and run successfully (details in Image B).
