VSCode中PHPUnit Test Explorer插件配置报错求助

Fixes for "Could not open input file: vendor/bin/phpunit" in VSCode PHPUnit Test Explorer

1. Open VSCode to the correct project directory

Ensure you launch VSCode directly from your Laravel app's server folder (not the parent myproject directory). This ensures relative paths like vendor/bin/phpunit resolve to the correct location.

2. Set the direct path to PHPUnit's entry script

The plugin may fail to execute the bash-style vendor/bin/phpunit wrapper with Windows PHP. Replace it with the actual PHP entry script in your settings.json:

"phpunit.phpunitPath": "${workspaceFolder}/vendor/phpunit/phpunit/phpunit"

Alternatively, use the Windows batch file if you prefer:

"phpunit.phpunitPath": "${workspaceFolder}/vendor/bin/phpunit.bat"

3. Fix the phpunit.paths configuration

Replace the hardcoded path with a workspace variable to avoid path mismatches:

"phpunit.paths": {
    "${workspaceFolder}": "${workspaceFolder}/vendor/bin"
}

This dynamically maps your project root to the directory containing PHPUnit.

4. Run PHPUnit inside Homestead VM (for VM-dependent projects)

If your Laravel project relies on Homestead's environment, configure the plugin to run tests directly in the VM:

  1. Create a phpunit-homestead.bat file in your server directory:
    @echo off
    vagrant ssh -c "cd /home/vagrant/code/myproject/server && phpunit %*"

  2. Update your settings.json to use this script:
    "phpunit.php": "cmd.exe",
    "phpunit.phpunitPath": "${workspaceFolder}/phpunit-homestead.bat"
