如何捕获Flutter组件所在窗口?Flutter桌面程序窗口捕获问题及Win32 API解决方案分享
Hey fellow tech peers,
I wanted to share a solution to a problem I ran into while building a custom Flutter desktop app—specifically, capturing the window that contains my Flutter components. Let me walk you through what went wrong and how I fixed it.
The Initial Roadblock
First, I tried using the flutter_acrylic plugin to set my app's background to transparent, then used RenderRepaintBoundary to capture the component. But the result was just a transparent image with none of the window's actual content. After troubleshooting, I realized the issue: this approach only captures the Flutter component itself, not the full window context.
The Fix: Leveraging Win32 GDI APIs via the win32 Package
I reached out for ideas around Win32 capture APIs and eventually got this working. Here's the step-by-step approach:
Retrieve the app's window handle (HWND)
Use thewin32package to get the HWND for your Flutter window. You can useGetForegroundWindow()if your app is currently active, orFindWindowA()to locate it by window title.Capture the window with Win32 GDI functions
Once you have the HWND, follow these GDI steps to capture the window content:- Grab the device context (DC) of the window using
GetWindowDC(). - Create a compatible DC with
CreateCompatibleDC()and a matching compatible bitmap usingCreateCompatibleBitmap(). - Attach the bitmap to the compatible DC with
SelectObject(). - Copy the window's content to the compatible DC using
BitBlt(). - Convert the captured bitmap into a format Flutter can render, like a
Uint8Listto use with anImagewidget.
- Grab the device context (DC) of the window using
Clean up system resources
Critical step: Don't leave GDI resources hanging. UseReleaseDC()to free the window DC,DeleteDC()for the compatible DC, andDeleteObject()to remove the bitmap once you're done.
Important Tips
- Since we're capturing at the Win32 level, this method correctly captures the full visible window content, even if you've set a transparent background with
flutter_acrylic. - The
win32package wraps all required Win32 functions, so you don't need to write native C++ code—just add it as a dependency in yourpubspec.yaml.
