GitHub Wiki中MathJax align环境插入链接渲染失效问题求助

When proving mathematical statements, I use the following format:

\begin{align*}
ax^2 + bx + c &= 0\\\\
x &= \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a} & \text{applying the Quadratic Formula}
\end{align*}

I tried adding a link to an explanation page in GitHub Flavored Markdown like this:

\begin{align*}
ax^2 + bx + c &= 0\\\\
x &= \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a} & \text{by the [Quadratic Formula](link/to/formula)}
\end{align*}

But this breaks the align environment, and the LaTeX code renders as plain text when the .md file is viewed. I've tried relative links and regular links, but I want to keep the link within the align environment. Is there a solution?

Note: This is for a GitHub Wiki page, where both the source page and target page are within the same Wiki.
