Ubuntu下配置Git：Azure Repos认证用Chrome，GitHub留Firefox

当前环境 #

• 操作系统：Ubuntu（Linux）
• Git版本：git version 2.43.0
• 需求：Azure Repos认证弹窗使用Google Chrome（当前默认是Firefox），同时保留Firefox作为GitHub认证的默认浏览器

已配置的Git设置 #

我在.gitconfig中添加了以下内容，但未生效：

[web]
  browser = chrome
[browser "chrome"]
  path = /usr/bin/google-chrome

也曾尝试设置credential.helper = manager并调整路径，Git仍用Firefox打开认证窗口。

已尝试的无效操作 #

• 执行git credential-manager erase和git credential-manager reject命令，未改变认证浏览器
• 用GIT_TRACE=1 git fetch追踪操作，未找到浏览器调用相关日志

核心问题 #

Git完全忽略.gitconfig中的浏览器设置，Azure Repos认证时始终调用Firefox。

解决方案 #

1. 针对Git Credential Manager (GCM) 单独配置浏览器 #

Azure Repos的认证弹窗由GCM负责触发，而非Git的web.browser设置。你需要直接配置GCM的默认浏览器：

git config --global credential.browser chrome

如果需要指定Chrome的绝对路径，补充配置：

git config --global credential.browser.chrome.path /usr/bin/google-chrome

2. 为Azure Repos单独配置浏览器（保留Firefox给GitHub） #

如果要实现Azure Repos用Chrome，GitHub用Firefox的差异化配置，需要针对不同仓库域设置单独的credential配置：

• 先设置全局默认浏览器为Firefox（适配GitHub）：

git config --global credential.browser firefox

• 为Azure Repos的域名（比如dev.azure.com）单独指定Chrome：

git config --global credential.dev.azure.com.browser chrome
git config --global credential.dev.azure.com.browser.chrome.path /usr/bin/google-chrome

3. 验证配置是否生效 #

查看当前的credential浏览器配置：

git config --list | grep credential.browser

执行git fetch触发Azure Repos认证，检查是否调用Chrome。

4. 重置现有凭据（可选） #

如果之前的凭据缓存导致设置不生效，清除Azure Repos的缓存凭据：

git credential-manager erase "https://dev.azure.com"
